Marketing and Sales Advisor - Carlisle

Salary: £15k - £20k

The Company

Our client is South West Scotlands premier venue for entertainment and caters to over 750,000 customers per year. Our client plays host to international orchestras, theatre, opera and ballet companies, international recording artists and comedians, both past and present.

The venue provides a diverse range of sports, recreation and health & fitness activities and also hosts a wide range of conferences, meetings and exhibitions ranging from car shows, Ideal Home exhibitions and national conferences to small meetings and seminars.

The Role

Our client is looking for a Marketing & Sales Advisor (Events). This role will support in developing and growing audience attendance numbers across the venue, as well as actively promoting all aspects of the events programme. Our client hosts over 200 events a year ranging from comedy to West End productions and classical concerts.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Marketing & Sales Advisor, you will be primarily focused on promotional and marketing activities as well as PR, social media management, customer relations and brand representation.

The successful candidate will manage and maintain our client's online presence (website and social media) plus manage all group bookings via telephone and email which you will then process via the box office system.

Working with the Deputy Events Manager and Events Duty Manager, the successful candidate will support on devising and delivering marketing planners and promotional activity to engage and entice audiences to increase sales.

You will build good working relationships with local media, national media and relevant suppliers as well as leading on potential sponsorship deals with external companies.

Essential Skills & Requirements:

The successful candidate will have experience in website and social media management plus ideally customer service experience in the arts and events industry.

As youll be dealing with a diverse range of people, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and great interpersonal skills too.

Youll also have a good understanding of packages such as Microsoft Office plus a working knowledge of GDPR & Data Protection Laws.

It would be desirable to have knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, InDesign and Premier Pro, Box Office Systems, Spektrix and email / SMS marketing software.

Time management will be important, as will working well under pressure, whilst still maintaining accuracy in all that you do.
