Financial Data Analyst
Based in Milton Keynes
From £30,000 to £37,000 per annum dependent on experience
Our client, a global financial organisation, is looking for a permanent Financial Data Analyst to join the team in Milton Keynes.
This is a role that combines sound technical knowledge with financial analysis skills, as well as strong stakeholder management ability.
The position sits plays an important role in ensuring that financial control is maintained at all times in accounting and regulatory reporting systems, and the successful candidate will be responsible for the execution, monitoring, presentation, and continuous development of financial reconciliations between key databases and the financial ledgers.
-Review and execute financial reconciliation between credit risk data and financial ledgers
-Identify and deliver enhancements to existing processes and tests
-Support the resolution of data issues in conjunction with internal customers and IT
-Provide continuous review and development of key controls
-Provide accurate and regular updates to internal customers, senior management and steering groups
-Represent the team, as a subject matter expert, in meetings and workshops
-Manage key relationships with internal customers, project personnel and IT
-Provide data expert input to project requirements and testing plans
-Provide relevant support and training to other team members
-Experience of developing a control lifecycle within a financial services environment
-Experience of data validation and undertaking complex reconciliations
-Ability to identify, assess and articulate risks to the quality of data used in capital calculations
-Experience of large volume data analysis, interpretation of results and production of summaries/recommendations
-Proven ability in identifying, analysing and successfully resolving issues
-Experience in use of data exploitation tools i.e. SQL, MS Access
-Understanding of data-warehousing and ETL processes
-Experience at an advanced level of Microsoft Excel
-Excellent interpersonal skills - able to work with all levels of staff, and build good relationships with departments in the business, IT and Risk
-Disciplined and structured attitude that delivers to tight deadlines, and balances conflicting timescales and priorities
-A "can do" / positive attitude and approach, able to work using own initiative
-A mature approach to changing demands - able to mediate work through challenging agendas
-Knowledge of risk and control concepts
-Experience of regulatory requirements and returns
-Experience of IT development lifecycle, from a business perspective, including defining requirements and testing
-Experience of writing and daily use of SAS to interrogate, manipulate and report on data
Due to the nature of this organisation, candidates must be able to pass a credit check and have no dismissals over the last 3 years.
